Tippy Toes Dress Code

Leotard.

Younger students (Baby & Me, Preschool, Beginner, Elementary 1) can choose a leotard of any color. Older students (Elementary 2 and up) must choose a dark colored leotard. The acceptable colors are listed on our dance store site.

Ballet Shoes.

Students will start every class with ballet. Please purchase pink ballet shoes, preferably without the drawstrings. Do not purchase “house slippers” that resemble ballet shoes.

Tap Shoes.

Each class ends with tap. As a general rule these levels will need tan tap shoes (no laces): Baby and me, Preschool, Beginner, and Elementary 1. Elementary 2-3 and Intermediate 1-2 need tan buckled tap shoes. Once a student is in Intermediate 3, they will need black lace up tap shoes. On our online store, we have labeled what is acceptable for each level.

Tights.

Students should wear pink tights to class. Younger ones may wear recital tights from last year. These may have a tan look to them. That is acceptable.

Hair Supplies.

Students in Elementary 2 and up must come to each class with their hair in a bun. You may wish to purchase a bun maker. And always have plenty of bobby pins! Students in the younger levels are recommended but not required to have their hair up in either a pony tail or bun.

Optional.

Younger students may wish to wear a tutu or skirt of any color. Students in Elementary 2 and up may add a simple ballet skirt, wrap sweater, or leg warmers. Acceptable colors and styles are listed on the capezio store. No street clothes (shirts, shorts, oversized sweaters) will be permitted. A student not following this rule, will be asked to observe class.
